Partnerships Wizard
Are you brilliant at turning conversations into relationships?
Languages United is a multi-award-winning, independent boutique language school in the heart of Bath. We welcome international students from around the world and are known for providing a highly personal, professional and friendly experience.
We are looking for a Partnerships Wizard who genuinely enjoys people, relationships and international business — and who has the organisation and persistence to turn an initial conversation into a confirmed booking and, ideally, a long-term partnership.
This is not a high-pressure telesales role. But it is equally not a role for someone who simply waits for enquiries to arrive.
We are looking for someone who enjoys making contact, asking good questions, listening, following up, building trust and spotting opportunities.
One morning you might speak with an educational partner in Switzerland or Italy, respond to a parent considering a course in Bath and follow up previous enquiries. Later that day you might hold a Zoom meeting with a prospective international partner, prepare a proposal and update your pipeline in our CRM.
If that sounds energising rather than daunting, we should probably talk.
What will you be doing?
Enquiries and sales, you will:
- understand the school's values, the courses it provides, and its unique selling points;
- respond promptly and professionally to new enquiries;
- understand what prospective clients and partners need;
- recommend appropriate Languages United programmes;
- prepare quotations and proposals;
- follow enquiries consistently;
- help move prospects from initial enquiry through to confirmed booking;
- identify opportunities requiring senior management involvement.
CRM and pipeline management, you will:
- manage enquiries and opportunities through Salesmate CRM;
- maintain accurate communication histories;
- record next actions and follow-up dates;
- prioritise opportunities;
- maintain a clear and realistic sales pipeline;
- produce straightforward sales and pipeline information for management;
- ensure promising opportunities don't simply disappear because nobody followed up.
Proactive sales and relationship development, you will:
- reconnect with previous students, groups and partners;
- reactivate dormant accounts;
- make proactive telephone and video calls;
- develop relationships with prospective educational partners;
- maintain regular contact with existing Education Travel Organisers and other partners;
- identify opportunities for repeat business;
- help develop selected international markets.
As you grow into the role, you may also represent Languages United at selected workshops, events and international sales meetings.
The person we're looking for
You will probably be someone who:
- genuinely enjoys talking to people;
- is warm, engaging and professional;
- feels comfortable initiating contact with someone you've never met;
- isn't afraid of picking up the telephone;
- asks good questions and actually listens to the answers;
- understands that effective sales is about relationships rather than pressure;
- follows up consistently;
- doesn't take silence or rejection personally;
- enjoys the satisfaction of moving an opportunity forward;
- is commercially aware;
- is extremely organised;
- is comfortable using a CRM;
- can manage multiple client conversations without losing track of them;
- writes excellent professional English;
- is curious about different countries and cultures;
- can represent Languages United naturally and confidently.
Your background
Previous experience in ELT or international education would be valuable, but it is not essential.
We are equally interested in strong candidates from:
- international education;
- study abroad;
- travel and tourism;
- hospitality sales;
- events;
- educational recruitment;
- B2B relationship sales;
- account management;
- partnership development;
- other sectors where relationships and longer sales cycles matter.
We're interested in your ability to build relationships and develop business, not simply the sector printed on your CV.
What kind of sales culture will you be joining?
We don't believe that good sales means pressuring people. Languages United has grown through relationships, personal service, reputation and trust.
We want someone who combines commercial drive with warmth, curiosity and integrity.
For us, successful sales often looks like an enquiry → a conversation → trust → a booking → a relationship → repeat business.
Why join Languages United?
Languages United is deliberately different from a large institution.
You will not be one small part of an enormous department.
You will know the students whose courses you have helped organise, work closely with colleagues across the school and see the impact of your work every day.
We offer:
- £31,000–£34,000 basic salary, depending on experience;
- an additional performance-related bonus;
- 37.5 hours week for office-based role, with additional hours for international travel
- a permanent year-round position;
- an international client and partner base;
- the opportunity to develop experience in international education sales;
- potential UK and overseas travel as the role develops;
- significant responsibility within a small independent business;
- some flexibility once fully established in the position;
- the opportunity to grow with the role and potentially progress towards a more senior international sales position.
Please ensure you have read our advice to all applicants above.
