Hosting students
Many of our students stay with host familes during their time studying English in Bath. This is an enriching and memorable experience for both hosts and students, and the student becomes an active member of the household where they can experience British culture and improve their English. Hosts can be families with or without children, or single adults. Both students and hosts are selected with great care and students are expected to abide by the customs and reasonable expectations of their host.
As a host, you:
- Welcome a student into your home.
- Provide an individual bed, breakfast and evening meals - half-board, plus packed lunches at weekends for junior students.
- Maintain contact with the school Accommodation and Welfare Office.
- Assist students in settling in.
- Must live in Bath, no more than a 30-minute journey away from the city centre (walking or by bus).
- Will need to apply for a DBS certificate if hosting under 18s
Junior students (under 18) may share rooms, while adult students are hosted in single rooms.
