Are you a lover of literature, history and Jane Austen?

Our Jane Austen English Language Experiences combine group or individually tailored English tuition with a special selection of experiences to allow you to experience Bath just as Jane Austen did in her time.

Jane Austen experiences can be tailored to your interests, and could include:

• Jane Austen Centre visit: explore the fascinating world of Jane Austen and learn about her life and work.
• Historical tour of Bath: follow in the footsteps of Jane Austen and discover the history and landmarks of the city. You'll also be able to spot filming locations of films such as Persuasion and Northanger Abbey (as well as many other films and TV series, including Bridgerton).
• Regency dance workshop: learn the dances that Austen's characters would have enjoyed. You may even be able to practice them at a real Regency Ball!
• Afternoon tea: indulge in this quintessential British experience, enjoying tea, scones and sandwiches.
• Jane Austen Festival: if your visit coincides with this renowned festival in September, you'll have the opportunity to celebrate the author at balls, events and parades.

Individuals can join our Confident English for Women over 50 course which runs during the festival, from the 7th-18th September 2026, allowing you to join Jane Austen events alongside your course.
